Fender American Standard Telecaster 1999 in Superb Condition

I imagine that if you are looking at this listing, you know about these guitars. Often considered as coming from one of Fender's best production eras - I share that view - this guitar is from the first series of Fender American Standard Telecasters which ran from 1988 to 2000.

This guitar has had very little play during its life and, in fact, has spent most of its life in a temperature-controlled room. For these reasons, the guitar suffers from little of the lacquer cracking and splitting (particularly at the fret edges) which one sees on other Fender guitars from this vintage.

One is not going to find a "new old stock" Fender American Standard Telecaster from this era of Fender production. However, in my opinion, this guitar is about as close as it is possible to get. I have owned several of these guitars and checked out many others (being a bit of a Fender geek for this vintage) and this is the cleanest which I have ever encountered.

The guitar is over 25 years old i.e. vintage. If you are buying as an investment, it should grow in value from now on.

There are no scratches, dents or dings on the body or neck to speak of. There is the tiniest bit of fret wear on the lower frets. You would certainly not notice if if playing. I have had it set up professionally and it plays beautifully.

The guitar comes with the original Fender moulded "chainsaw" red label case, which is also in excellent condition and the original tags which would have been with the guitar in the shop back in 1999.

I realise that the price is higher than that of other Fender guitars from this era which you may see. However, this reflects the excellent state of the instrument. If you seek an ultra-clean example of a Fender American Telecaster of the 1988-2000 vintage, then this may be for you.
