Unlike previous previous Waza Craft pedals, the FZ-1W is BOSS's modern interpretation of a vintage fuzz as opposed to a modern recreation of a particular vintage fuzz unit. Many vintage fuzz pedals whilst can sound great often have there downsides - sometimes being inconsistent and having their tone affected by things such as age, battery and temperature...this is not the case with the FZ-1W! Utilizing high quality silicon transistors and with a unique circuit, the FZ-1W will deliver authentic tone time and time again, with higher gain, lower noise and deeper tone shaping on offer.

The FZ1W has a simple, yet effective control set. The 3 knobs give you control for Level, Fuzz and Tone, whilst the V/M micro switch gives you access to Vintage and Modern fuzz tones. 

The Vintage fuzz sound is raspy and assertive with more gain and a wider expression available compared to vintage fuzz pedals. It's also very dynamic, so use your guitar's volume control to go from heavy fuzz to clean tones. 

The Modern setting is a more refined sound, and more versatile, with a focused mid range and fatter tone. The gain range is wider than Vintage mode, whilst the Tone control lets you tweak the brightness whilst maintaining that all important mid-range.
