The OC5 features the 2 modes. The Vintage mode gives you access to the much loved tones of the legendary BOSS OC-2 octave pedal. Originally released in 1982, the OC-2 is a true classic, that delivered warm yet present octave sounds that fit perfectly in the mix. The OC-5's Vintage Mode gives you that iconic mono sound with controls for -1 and -2 octave effects, the direct sound and all with improved tracking.

Flick the switch over to the Poly mode and you are in a more modern Octave territory. This Poly mode will allow you to play full chords with the octave effect, whilst the variable Range control restricts the effects to the lower notes - great for playing normal chords alongside octave bass lines.

Its not all about going lower, as BOSS have also added an new Octave up effect, which can either work on its own or be blended with the low octave effects

You can also optimize the performance and tracking engine to suit either guitar or bass via way of a dedicated switch on the body of the pedal.

The pedal also offers a Direct Out jack, making it easy to route dry and effects sounds to different destinations.
