Get the iconic Brian May "Red Special" tone on a budget without losing the classic Stratocaster tonal range.

This is a brand-new, unused Squier Affinity Stratocaster that has been modified to offer even more tonal options. I like the Kz One a lot and I tried to offer something similar at a fraction of the price.

Modifications: While it looks like a regular Strat on the outside, the internals were changed to mimic the legendary Queen tones:

• Discrete push-pull tone potentiometers as in the last photo.
• Tone 1 has a hidden switch that inverts the phase of the middle pickup. Activating gives you the violin tone that Brian May uses in Bohemian Rhapsody and other solos.
• Tone 2 has another hidden switch that selects between series and parallel wiring. This switch lets you alternate between standard parallel wiring (for classic, bright Strat chime) and series wiring (like the Red Special, which sits between a Strat and a Les Paul).

Between the 5-way selector, the series toggle, and the phase switch, you have access to nine pickup combinations.

Guitar Condition & Specs

• Condition: Pristine and completely unused. It cannot be listed as "New" because I am not an official Fender/Squier dealer and the wiring is custom, but it has zero play wear.
• Neck: Slim "C" profile with a satin finish. Either maple or laurel depending on the colours.
• Bridge: Modern 2-point tremolo.
• Available Colours: Olympic White / 3-Color Sunburst / Black / Lake Placid Blue.

Includes three sixpences to have the proper "pick" that Brian May uses.
