Matamp GT-150 2020 - 150/75w Switch

Sadly (for me), it's time to move on my absolutely killer Matamp GT-150 head. I've been using this amp for the last three years, but recently (don't @ me, guys), I've got really into old-school solid-state amps, so this beast has not been getting as much use. Amps like this aren't meant to be decoration pieces, so thus, I must pass this on to someone who will give it the use that it deserves.

I've been using this head for bass over the last three years. It's been lightly gigged, more intensively rehearsed, and genuinely well-cared-for and loved.

This one has a couple of custom options added. It has additional side handles on the top that you're going to want to make use of while lifting it (it is not light), and it has a toggle switch for bringing the wattage down to 75w. I found this especially useful for playing this into a captor at home. Preamp valves are 3x JJ ECC83, and the power amp valves are 4x Gold Lion KT88.

I include the full spec from the manufacturer below. As I understand it, these amps are not currently in production because some parts have become rare or impossible to source (that's what I've heard on the grapevine anyway; I don't think the company has released anything on the subject).

Need more power? The Green Matamp  GT150 is a dual purpose high power head for guitar and bass. Designed for ultimate clean headroom but with enough gain to satisfy most, the GT150 is not for the faint hearted.

For bass duties the GT150 delivers a gritty midrange drive that really cuts through while guitarists get levels of dynamic punch that have to be felt to be believed.

Now featuring the excellent Gold Lion KT88 valves as standard the GT150 delivers over 150w of clean power to either 4 or 8 ohm loads (we recommend a 400w cab minimum). At 10% THD the amp delivers 200w and keeps going well beyond when driven.

The preamp takes elements of the GTL design but has been tweaked for more low end punch. Capable of delivering both clean and crunch sounds with classic Matamp tone.

Huge transformers, massive filter capacitors and hand wired turret track construction will give years of reliable service.

Available as standard black or custom Green (as pictured), this amp is set to dominate your live sound.
