Ampeg SVT-VR 300W all-valve bass amplifier head for sale.

The SVT-VR is Ampeg's recreation of the classic early-'70s SVT, with the traditional two-channel front panel and 300-watt all-valve power section.

This amp has been professionally maintained and is in full working order.

Most importantly, it underwent a professional service by Fretronics Engineering in Glasgow in July 2024, which included the replacement of all six 6550 power valves, along with passive components/materials, labour and PAT testing. The amp has had very little use since this work was carried out. I have the original Fretronics invoice available as proof of the service.

The amp sounds exactly as you'd expect from an SVT – huge, powerful low end with plenty of headroom and the characteristic valve warmth and drive these amps are known for.

Condition

This is a used working amplifier and has cosmetic signs of use, including marks/scuffs to the outer covering, corners and metalwork. I've photographed it thoroughly so please check the pictures for its cosmetic condition.

Mechanically/electronically it is working as it should and, as above, it had a substantial professional service in July 2024 and has seen very little use since.

These are extremely heavy amplifiers, so collection is preferred. Happy for the buyer to test it on collection.
