Original Allen & Heath factory format documentation has now been located for this exact serial number. It confirms a 60-position X-Large frame fitted with 32 M310 input modules, 24-track bargraph meterpod, M350 master section, eight M330 dual group modules and four M335 dual monitor modules. The 12-position blank centre section is also shown on the original factory specification and is therefore part of the original configuration rather than missing modules.

The same factory documentation specifies Allen & Heath RPS2 serial P41084 with this console — the exact RPS2 PSU currently supplied with it.

Rare UK-built Allen & Heath Saber Mk2 Plus, serial M32134, in a large 32-channel recording configuration with bargraph meter bridge and MIDI mute automation.

Allen & Heath Product Support have positively identified the console and supplied the surviving factory technical documentation. The desk remains substantially complete and retains its original studio markings.

Large-format vintage Allen & Heath Saber Mk2 Plus recording console, approximately 2 metres wide, recently acquired from the clearance of a private recording studio.

Important PSU / testing information

The console is being sold untested.

I contacted Allen & Heath directly before attempting to power it up. They confirmed that the correct original PSU for this Saber Mk2 Plus would have been an RPS4.

The RPS2 pictured was acquired with the console, but Allen & Heath advise that a standard/unmodified RPS2 does not provide sufficient current for this model.

It is possible that the RPS2 may previously have been modified, but I have no evidence of this and have therefore deliberately not attempted to power the console.

Allen & Heath have advised that compatible alternatives can include the RPS4, RPS15, RPS11, MPS12 or MPS14 with the appropriate cable/configuration.

The desk should therefore be treated as untested vintage professional equipment requiring inspection/recommissioning by someone suitably experienced.

Condition

For its age, the console appears remarkably complete.

There is normal cosmetic wear consistent with professional studio use, including marks, old studio labelling, some oxidation to fixings and general age-related wear.

The control surface appears substantially complete with the vast majority of knobs, switches and faders present.

History / provenance

The console came from the studio equipment of Herb Michaels.

I have attached a period photograph from his Facebook profile in 2024 (see last image in this listing) showing this exact console installed in his studio, along with the same wooden speaker shelf/bridge and studio monitors.

The rear of the desk also carries the original lettering:

“THE ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX”

I have deliberately left the historical studio labels and markings intact.

No claim is being made that the previous ownership adds significant monetary value; the information is simply included as documented history of the console.

This is an extremely large and heavy professional mixing console, approximately 2 metres wide.
