The Linn Kan is a small two-way passive bookshelf loudspeaker produced in Glasgow, Scotland, with origins dating back to 1979. Its earliest iterations drew on the BBC LS3/5a design - initially a sealed-box enclosure - before being redesigned as a rear-ported reflex cabinet. Early Kan 1 and Kan 2 generations feature wood cabinets and are widely regarded as the most desirable by enthusiasts; later generations (Kan 3 through 5) moved to MDF construction. Driver choices evolved across generations, with early models employing a KEF B110 mid-woofer and a Scanspeak tweeter, while a subsequent revision introduced a glass-fibre woofer made in-house by Linn. The Kan is consistently noted for a coloured, dynamic, and musically exciting sound character - brighter and more forward-sounding than a standard LS3/5a - that has earned it a devoted following among hi-fi enthusiasts.
A great opportunity to own a Linn Kan at this price point.
