Laney’s powerful but lightweight bass combo from their now discontinued top line SL series.
Tube preamp (12ax7) into 500 watts Class D power section driving a 12” neodymium speaker and a 1” HF tweeter.
This has every bell and whistle you could hope for. Up top there’s a semi-parametric EQ, simple compressor, chorus, reverb, octave, and fifth onboard FX. Touch and Tilt controls which allow you to adjust playing feel and focus of your main EQ settings.
Out back you have the usual external speaker output for bigger venues, DI out which is variable between your dry sound, post preamp, or final out, headphone out with its own level control, aux in - again with its own level knob, FX send and return, and tuner out.
On top of that you have USB out straight to your DAW, and reamp in for re-recording your dry signal with fresh EQ etc.
There’s an awful lot going on here, but at heart it’s still a one-hand luggable (20kg) tough-as-nails combo that’ll keep up with a drummer at practice and still handle most gigs with either a DI out to the board or an additional speaker.
And it’s great for home recording and practice, courtesy of all those ins and outs.
The whole series got very favourable reviews, this combo especially, but has since been discontinued. Asking price back then was just north of £800; yours for £430 plus DPD tracked courier.
Or you could come to sunny North Wales to collect. Thanks for looking; as usual any questions just ask 😁
