The Philips CDR 770 is a standalone audio CD recorder and player released in 2000, designed for home hi-fi use. It reads and writes CD-R and CD-RW discs, and can copy audio CDs directly. Recording can be done in standard 16-bit or Philips' HQ-CD 20-bit mode. On the analogue side it offers RCA line inputs and outputs as well as a microphone input, while digital connectivity covers both coaxial and optical (TOSLINK) inputs and outputs - making it straightforward to connect to a DAC, amplifier, or digital source. Audio performance specs include a frequency response of 2 Hz-22 kHz, a signal-to-noise ratio of 100 dB, dynamic range of 95 dB, and total harmonic distortion of just 0.0039%, with a 2 V line output level.
