Fun and versatile originals 1990s percussion pad. Lots of sounds and 8 pads. Can be used as a midi percussion trigger or use the internal sounds.

Had the pad as the 2nd owner for over 15 years. Only been used in my studio. Now surplus to needs as updated the studio.

Comes with a PSU for the unit.

The Roland SPD-8 was a landmark release for Roland because it was their first Octapad-style controller to include onboard, internal sounds, rather than acting strictly as a silent MIDI trigger.

• Polyphony & Memory: Offers a maximum 9-voice polyphony and holds 32 programmable patches (user kits) along with 1 patch chain.
• Editing Control: You can deeply customize the internal sounds per pad, adjusting parameters like Pitch (up to 1 octave up/down), Decay, Pan, Velocity Curves, and a built-in Velocity Filter which alters the character of the tone depending on how hard you strike the pad.
• MIDI Capabilities: Includes standard 5-pin MIDI In and Out ports. This allows you to use the SPD-8 as a MIDI controller to trigger modern software (DAWs), external hardware samplers, or use it as an external MIDI sound module triggered by a sequencer.
• Expandability: Includes rear inputs for external footswitches and triggers, allowing you to connect a kick pedal or hi-hat controller to turn it into a miniature travel drum kit.
