About This Model
The Denon SC-M3 is a compact 2-way bass reflex bookshelf loudspeaker originally supplied as the partnering speaker for Denon's D-M3 micro system. That system, launched in 1998, was a half-width all-in-one with a tuner and built-in CD player, and it went on to establish a long-running dynasty of award-winning Denon micro systems. The SC-M3 is rated at 50 watts into a nominal 8 Ohms, with cabinets standing roughly 35cm tall — a footprint that suits shelving, stands or a desktop rather than a large listening room. The two-way arrangement pairs a dome tweeter with a bass/mid driver in a ported enclosure, producing the even, unfussy balance that made the original system such a strong all-rounder.
