Here for sale we have an Epiphone B.B King Lucille semi-hollow body electric guitar in Ebony finish. Crafted in China in 2008, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Laminated Maple body with centre block, 5-piece Maple neck and 22 Medium Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is fitted with Gold hardware including Tune-O-Matic bridge, TP-6 fine tuning tailpiece and Grover Rotomatic tuning machines. The pickups fitted are a pair of Epiphone Alnico Classic humbuckers, these are wired to a 3-way selector, bridge volume, bridge tone, neck volume, neck tone, 6-position Varitone switch and a Mono/Stereo Input.

The Gloss finish neck plays very well, with the ‘C’ profile sitting comfortably in the hand and providing a smooth and responsive playing experience in all registers. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 12” radius and Medium Jumbo frets offering a perfect balance between easy chord playing, practicality for lead lines and string bending techniques. The semi-hollow construction gives the guitar a nice open and resonant feel, while keeping unwanted feedback at bay.

The semi-hollow body delivers unique acoustic features. It achieves a delicate balance between body resonance and resistance to feedback, this results in an organic vocal quality that is tactile and responsive to the player's touch. The pair of Epiphone Alnico Classic humbucking pickups sound thick and chunky with rich lows, tight, punchy mids and crisp, clear highs. The round and thick tone of the neck position is well complemented by the hotter, brighter bridge pickup which provides all of the bite needed for hard rock lead lines. The 6-way Varitone switch acts as a notch filter to suppress certain frequencies, and offers 6 unique voices which are almost infinitely variable thanks to the standard controls. A guitar truly fit for a king.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the headstock demonstrate light to mild scratching, only visible under direct light at certain angles. The rear face top edge demonstrates scuff marks that could not be removed during our cleaning process, wearing the finish to lightly reveal the wood beneath. The rear face top corners demonstrate small indentations that have removed the finish to reveal the wood beneath in a small area.

Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck and fingerboard demonstrate light scratching, only visible under direct light at certain angles. These cannot be felt by the hand in playing position or beneath the strings.

Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body demonstrate light to mild scratching and indentations. Most notably indentation to the tip of the bass side horn and near the treble side wasit. These have pierced the finish and reveal the wood beneath. The rear face binding demonstrates a small indentation near the treble side waist.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. Light denting is present to the early register. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional and good condition. Moderate tarnishing and fading of the gold plating is apparent to the tuners, truss rod cover, pickup covers, bridge and tailpiece. Notable tooling marks are apparent at the bridge height adjustment posts. Light concentrated scratching is apparent to the pickguard.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
