The Pioneer MJ-D707 is a full-sized MiniDisc recorder deck released in 1998, built around Pioneer's own ASRAC Transducer - an enhancement to the standard ATRAC codec aimed at improving audio resolution. It also features Legato Link Conversion, which artificially reconstructs frequencies up to 40kHz to compensate for MiniDisc's lossy encoding, alongside Digital Noise Reduction for cleaner recordings. Connectivity is comprehensive: inputs include Digital Optical, Digital Coaxial, and Analog RCA, while outputs cover Digital Optical, Analog RCA, and a 6.3mm headphone jack. Recording is made easy via CD Synchro capability, and the unit supports Jog Dial operation with Digital Volume Control through the remote. Measured performance figures stand at a signal-to-noise ratio of 101dB and a distortion factor of 0.005%, placing it firmly at the upper end of consumer MiniDisc hardware.
