Lynette Sage Awarded a “She Rocks” Award Alongside Macy Gray, Lisa Loeb, and More

Tuesday, February 5, 2019 — Lynette Sage, Art Director at Reverb—the leading online marketplace dedicated to buying and selling new and used musical instruments—was honored last month at the seventh annual She Rocks Awards in Anaheim, California. Hosted by the Women’s International Music Network, the gala celebration featured a star-studded array of honorees, including Terri Nunn of Berlin, Macy Gray, Lisa Loeb, and Nita Strauss, as well as many other women from all corners of the music and audio industry.

“In the six years that Reverb has been helping buyers and sellers connect over the perfect piece of music gear, there’s perhaps been no single employee who has had a bigger impact on our look and feel than Lynette,” said Reverb’s CEO & Founder David Kalt, who presented Sage with the award. “Lynette has helped us create a brand and a destination online where everyone feels welcome. Through Lynette’s leadership, Reverb is working to create a diverse online community where anyone with any musical aspiration from any background feels inspired, appreciated, and included.”

In her acceptance speech, Sage—who was given the She Rocks “Innovator” Award—cited previous jobs where she felt like an “imposter” even though she had the skills and expertise to excel in her position. “Things changed when I joined Reverb. My expertise was not only appreciated, but it was sought out. I had a platform to voice my opinions and people were listening,” she said. “It didn’t take long for me to realize that as Reverb’s Art Director, I had the ability to give others a platform similar to what I’d been given.”
