The Walrus Audio RED pushes the possibilities of a distortion to the brink with an almost obscene amount of gain for nailing throwback death metal/shoegaze tones. Aggressive and unbridled, the RED features a two-way Texture switch that selects between two sets of diodes: one with maximum compression and clipping for leads, and another with the lowest compression and clipping for an open roar bordering on distorted overdrive. An excellent companion for those after maximum crunch with the control to dial in more nuanced flavor.
