Overview
To cut manufacturing costs, new Vox owners Birch-Stolec Ltd. turned to printed circuit boards that were widely used in transistor amplifiers to make the flagship AC-30 tube amp. While not quite as reliable in the long term (overheating and PCB trace failures were common), this era of AC-30 does make for quite the bargain compared to models just a couple years older.
