Here we have a very cool Silvertone 1448 guitar with amp case. This amp and guitar are all original. Fully tested and ready to play. New strings on the guitar and set up with low action. The amp works good but there is a slight bit of filter cap hum. I have changed out several of these over the years. If you are interested in buying this unit but are concerned about the filter cap, I can change it out for a small fee and then you are good to go for the next 50 years. The guitar frets are in good condition with little or no fret ware. The Silvertone 1448 is a legendary 1960s catalog guitar manufactured by Danelectro and sold exclusively through Sears, Roebuck and Company. It is most famous for its "amp-in-case" design where a tube amplifier is built directly into the carrying case. The GuitarBody: Semi-hollow Masonite top and back with a pine/poplar outer structure and a black sparkle finish.Neck & Scale: Short, stubby 18-fret neck with a short scale length (approx. 23.5 inches).Electronics: A single "lipstick" tube pickup in the middle position with simple, concentric or separate volume and tone controls.Collectability: Originally marketed as a beginner's guitar, it has since been played by icons like Jimmy Page, Beck, and George Harrison. Used models typically range from $785 to $1,295 depending on condition and originality. The Amp-in-CaseSpecs: A 3-watt, tube-powered amplifier (featuring two tubes plus a rectifier) housed securely in the corner of the hard-shell carrying case. Speaker: Featured a 5-inch speaker from 1962–1963, which has upgraded to a 6-inch speaker in 1964. The speaker baffle features a distinct tweed or simulated leather covering. Controls: Extremely simple setup featuring an inlet for the power cord, a single volume knob, and an instrument input jack.
