The TT-800 is the culmination of our 50 years of bass amplifier design, presented in a two-channel, tube preamp format to bring bass players our two most revered signature bass sounds. Channel One brings the legendary tube-tone from our world-famous 400+ into the modern realm of compact size, lightweight and affordability, while Channel Two expands upon our current classic, the Subway preamp - Both Channels featured “Tri-Tube Topology” comprised of a trio of 12AT7s, thus the name. All of this tube-tone glory and goodness is then fed into our powerful and accurate 800-watt, Class D power amp, making the TT-800 the most expressive and versatile Subway to date.
Our Boogie BASS 400+ became a modern-day classic used by the world’s most talented bassists for two decades. Paul McCartney, Mark King, Stanley Clark, Jack Blades, Michael Anthony, Blasko, and Bootsy Collins, are but a few of the international stars across many genres that put the 400+ center stage during its 20-year build cycle. Those iconic tube amps still bring top dollar as recording centerpieces when you can find one changing hands on the pre-owned market. While MESA® has since pioneered two generations of tube-driven MOSFET models that held our ground since the 400’s heyday, changing times have seen the rise of our acclaimed Class D designs and today it’s the Subway Line in the spotlight. Now, in celebration of our 50 years building custom amplifiers, we’re revisiting Randall Smith’s legendary Bass 400 preamp, combining it with our popular Subway® preamp and Class D power to create an exciting 2-Channel model containing our Greatest Hits, past and present. Ultimate Bass 400 Tube Tone and Subway accuracy served up with Dual Channel flexibility combined with Class-D high power and ultra-portability… now you can have it all!
