About this listing
1982 Marshall JCM 800 2210 100W head with road case (Hybrid). This amp was signed off at the factory on 9-11-82 (see photo) and I purchased this head in 1987 from Chuck Levin’s Music Center when I was living in Maryland, so I am probably the second owner. This head is incredible, I don’t want to sell it but I have 2 Mesa Boogie Mark Vs (more options) and not going to take this out anymore. It’s been my amp for a good part of 30 years. It has been upgraded with a fan which saved me a lot of tubes. The tone is incredible especially if you use a closed cabinet. I have a Marshall 1922 2x12 cabinet that make her sound the best. This comes with a Hybrid (Holbrook, NY) brand road case (see photos). The 1982 Marshall JCM 800 2210 is a 100-watt, two-channel (split channel) head, pioneering high-gain, channel-switching, and onboard reverb for '80s rock/metal. Early 1982 models feature a unique, complex circuit with diode clipping, a post-phase inverter master volume, and the EQ placed before the gain stage. Key Features and Characteristics:·Channels: Clean and Boost (Lead) channels.·Circuitry: Features distinctive diode clipping, which contributes to its high-gain, aggressive sound.·Components: Early '80s models often utilize EL34 power tubes.·Controls: Includes master volume, master presence, and built-in reverb.·Output: 100 watts.·Design Changes: Unlike later 2210 models, the '82 version includes a unique post-phase inverter master volume and a distinct gain structure.
