Overview
The Mary-K is JHS' new take on the Kay Fuzz Tone, which was marketed in the late '60s as a low-cost alternative to the Shin-Ei/Univox Superfuzz. The form factor of the Mary-K is different and allowing players to dial in their exact frequency range with a knob, but you can also connect an expression control if you're looking to sweep like the original. The JHS version also gives more control over the gain and pushes the mids to make this grizzly fuzz clearer to hear.
