*Caution!!To prevent fraudulent purchases, we do not accept PayPal guest checkout.Please create your PayPal account before make the payment.A 1966 Hofner 500/2 “Club Bass” has arrived in stock.It features a dark, original sunburst finish that’s quintessentially vintage.Although this instrument has been restored, it boasts an exceptional vibe, marked by battle scars such as cracks and scratches in the finish.This model retains the characteristics of the early production run, prior to the transition to late-’60s specifications.It features a nitrocellulose lacquer finish, a raised logo, single open-type tuning pegs, a 3-layer nut,a 2-piece neck, a pearl-covered neck heel, staple-style pickups, a short tailpiece,and control plates and knobs that appear to be period pieces. The pickguard is missing.In addition to the distinctive details mentioned above, we have determined this to be a 1966 model based on the “36” pot date, which indicates the year of manufacture.It is difficult to determine the condition of the frets with certainty, but it is safest to assume they have been replaced.The serial number sticker, which was likely originally affixed to the back of the headstock, is currently attached to the bridge saddle.
