Overview
The Paul or The Paul Standard was a variation on the Les Paul introduced in 1978. This guitar was like the Les Paul is shape but used a Walnut body and two exposed humbuckers. In 1979, Gibson also launched The Paul Deluxe which used a mahogany body and a slightly different cutaway horn, along with the more traditional black headstock.
