The Gibson Dove Original in Antique Natural is a timeless square-shoulder acoustic steeped in history and elevated by modern craftsmanship. Originally released in 1962 as Gibson’s second square-shouldered dreadnought after the Hummingbird, the Dove quickly became a go-to instrument for countless legendary musicians. This updated reissue honors the original’s legacy while integrating subtle enhancements, including Gibson’s hand-rubbed VOS finish and thin nitrocellulose lacquer, allowing the tonewoods to breathe and age gracefully.
Constructed with a solid Sitka spruce top and flamed maple back and sides, the Dove delivers shimmering highs, articulate mids, and tight low-end response. The traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing ensures exceptional projection and tonal balance. Equipped with an LR Baggs VTC pickup system, the Dove is ready for both the studio and the stage.
