About this listing
* Offers are always welcome. I will be listing more vintage parts in the coming days, so please stay tuned ** ** The original tuners are available but are not included in this listing. They are in great shape (please refer to the 2nd picture). The original neck plate is also available. Let me know if you are interested in them, and we can work out a price to include them with the neck. Up for sale is a rare, original Fender Jazz Bass 4-bolt neck, dating from the late 1960s to early 1972. This neck was salvaged from a partcaster bass that was originally built in the mid-1970s. While the original date code has been sanded off, leaving the exact production year unknown, it is easily identified by its era-correct features. These include a truss rod adjustment located at the heel of the neck and the absence of a skunk stripe on the back.It features a beautiful, dark rosewood fingerboard and an incredibly comfortable medium-slim C profile. The neck has been professionally refinished. There is some localized darkening along the edge of the fingerboard on the treble side, which has been smoothed out and sprayed over. The back of the neck feels smooth in the hand, showing only minor impressions and light scuffs from normal use.The nut has been replaced with a high-quality brass nut. There is a short, tight hairline crack on the fingerboard over the last two frets, but it is completely stable and a very easy fix. The frets show moderate wear on the lower positions, the block inlays are tight, and the binding is in good shape. Crucially, the truss rod nut turns both ways and responds well.I also have the original tuners available, which are in great shape. Please let me know if you are interested in them, and we can work out a price to include them with the neck.
