This iteration of the Fender Deluxe family is a personal favorite of mine. The 5D3 sits right before the iconic 5E3 era both esthetically and tonally. It shares the same dynamic mid range growl and warmth, that is very touch responsive to the guitar player. But the 5D3 is much more creamier and 3-dimensional. It was a wonderful transition from the old octal preamp tubes of the 5C3, and prepared the way for the 9-pin 12ax7 family for the next years to come. This amp was preserved very well over the years and kept under its dust cover. This is an original Victoria Amp cover and the label reads that it comes from Los Angeles. As you can see, the amp is a well-preserved time capsule, and bears all of its original caps and resistors. We want to leave it up to the next owner to get it serviced, or keep it as a museum piece. This is certainly a great conversation starter. The original Power Transformer is the Triad 6452, and the original Output Transformer is the Triad 246 (one of my favorite outputs of this era). It still bears the original Jensen and original 2 prong cord. The chassis and the tube chart have the matching serial number 3347, and the letter stamp code DK - identifying as a late December of 1954 going into the early January period of 1955. Don't miss your chance on this vintage gem! This is an absolute must have option for recording. If you plan to play this amp, I would highly encourage you to take this to a tech in order to allow them to bring it up slowly on a variac. It is listed as "Non-functioning" for this reason. After it is serviced, I would also highly encourage using a BrownBox or similar voltage reducer to protect this amp from the modern wall voltages. It truly preserves the tone and ensures the life of the components. The rarity of this early model make this one a great find.
