As a key component of Casady's unmistakable bass sound, his Epiphone Signature Bass combines traditional semi-hollow elements with a JCB-1 low-impedance humbucker and a sophisticated passive electric system, which can be used to achieve amazingly multi-faceted timbres. A comfortably playable "C" neck and indestructible Hardware complete the features of the Jack Casady Fretless Bass Aged Royal Tan from the Epiphone Original Collection. Semi-Hollow Bass with long scale lengthA classic semi-hollow construction with a full 34" long scale length (864 mm) creates the basis for the woody and resonant yet precisely articulated sound character of the Jack Casady Signature bass. The body with top, back and sides made of multi-layer maple laminate is stabilized by a solid center block to prevent feedback at high volumes without affecting the sound. The strong "1960s Rounded" profile of the glued mahogany neck also sits comfortably in the hand, so that even tricky basslines can be played with ease on the 20-fret Indian Laurel fingerboard. Low-impedance pickup with VariGain switchThe pickup on the Jack Casady fretless Bass Aged Royal Tan is an Epiphone JCB-1 low-impedance humbucker in the middle position, which was developed over many years between the traditional company and the legendary bassist. Thanks to the special design, the pickup on the bass amplifier impresses with a sonorous sound that captures the characteristic timbre of the semi-resonant body with organic dynamics and translates fine playing nuances in detail. The VariGain switch for the impedance of the pickup also proves to be a tonal highlight. Depending on the position, the three-stage rotary switch significantly varies the sound character, so that no wish remains unfulfilled, from a full-bodied full-range tone to a biting sound with enormous punch. Volume and tone controls also allow precise adjustment of the personal bass sound. Reliable add-on partsLast but not least, the hardware equipment of the Epiphone Jack Casady Bass is made up of high-quality parts with reliable functionality. On the body of the semi-acoustic Signature bass guitar, the strings are held securely by the tried-and-tested 3-point adjustable bridge, which rests on three pins and not only contributes to the lively sound character, but also guarantees precise adjustment of intonation and string action. At the headstock, vintage-style tuners with elegant Clover wings keep the Jack Casady Bass reliably in tune.
