DOD's FX56 American Metal is a high gain distortion pedal produced from the late-1980s through mid-1990s. At the time of release, it was the highest gain and highest output pedal in DOD's line, and was designed and voiced to compete with the Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal distortion.
