Overview
Much of the comeback of ribbon microphones in the early 2000s can be chalked up in no small way to AEA in Pasadena, CA, and their R84 certainly helped lead the way for a new class of microphones to find a place in studios of all sizes. This modern classic borrows from the RCA 44 and 77 microphones while having a sound and personality all its own.
