What's in Trovarsi's Hybrid Modular Rig? | Patch Work

We're at the forefront of a music technology revival, with all the many methods to make electronic music, and one of those key areas of development is Eurorack. Many modular users like to create and perform their music entirely with the Eurorack modules, relying on very little else.

On the other hand, there are just as many modular users who choose to make full use of all available technology, including whatever combinations that improve performance. The term hybrid setup is used to describe this type.

In this next episode of Patch Work, Trovarsi virtually joins our host Fess Grandiose and shares what's in her performance rack—and she explains how she makes use of a hybrid workflow.

Trovarsi is a Los Angeles-based music producer and live performance artist who has been very active on the modular scene. She is the co-founder of the Southern California Synth Society, which aims to educate and encourage people interested in electronic music through synthesizers, modular DIY projects, and social gatherings. She also launched the international streaming festival Frequency Shift, which features female and gender-inclusive electronic acts.

In future episodes of Patch Work, Fess will be interviewing other artists and luminaries across the modular world, asking them to talk through their own current rigs.

Follow along with Trovarsi’s rig and find many more options in our "Beginner's Guide to Eurorack: Case Basics, Power Supplies, and Your First Modules."
