Video: Hear UAFX's Brand New Trio of Amp Pedals

For its latest trio of UAFX pedals, Universal Audio wanted to go beyond amp modelers. While nearly every brand has an amp-in-a-pedal these days, the UA team wanted each of its pedals to instead be a studio-in-a-box, the equivalent of a classic amp recorded with high-grade gear in a professional studio.

The results are the Woodrow '55 Tweed, Ruby '63 Top Boost Amplifier, and Dream '65 Reverb Amplifier, which not only do right by their inspirations, but also take everything a step further. Depending on the pedal, you can dial in emulated boost effects like the EP-III or Dallas Rangemaster, swap in aftermarket speakers, pair it with a classic cabinet, and bring the amount of room mic ambience up or down in the mix.
