When browsing music gear on Reverb, it's never long before you spot something you like. But unless you're ready to jump on a deal immediately, you may want an easy way to come back to it. See that heart or "Watch" box right there on the listing or within your search results? It's a simple and easy way to add an item to your Watch List—and find it quickly again later.
Why Watch?
Not only does the Watch List keep tabs on gear you're interested in, it also lets you know when the item:
- Drops in price
- Gets an offer from another buyer
- Gets relisted
All of these are useful tools that can help you snag a steal or understand the market a little better. At its core, though, Watched items are gearheads' favorite pieces. So we thought it would be fun to break down, by category, some of the most Watched items on Reverb.
A Few Notes
One thing to keep in mind when looking at the popular items below: They lean toward exclusive, direct-from-manufacturer, or rare inventory. And part of this is because of how Reverb works as a marketplace.
On our site, similar pieces of gear are grouped together on product pages, which users often add to their Feed in order to bookmark or find the best deals. But users can only Watch individual listings; so while dozens of SM57s may have a good number of Watchers apiece, a limited-edition mic listed by the only shop that sells it will have all the interested Watchers to itself.

Hologram Electronics' Microcosm is one of the most-popular new effects to be released this decade. A hit upon its release in 2020, the granular sampler, delay, looper, and overall box-of-magic received another injection of interest this year, when Hologram announced a new run. (Pre-orders are still up now for a September 21 ship date.) Because Hologram Electronics sells directly on Reverb, the company's own listing captured all of this interest itself, which resulted in the listing being added to thousands of Reverb Watch Lists.
Runners up: Other effects near the top of Reverb's Most Watched List? Collision Devices' Black Hole Symmetry and—unfortunately for serious Klon fans—Josh Scott's exorbitantly priced "First Klon Centaur Ever Made and Sold."
As with other items you'll see, the most Watched guitar goes to an exclusive release, this time from our pals at Chicago Music Exchange. It's also a perfect storm for gear fandom: a stunning guitar at a reasonable price point. The Fender CME Exclusive Player Jazzmaster in Shell Pink w/ Olympic White Headcap is a killer instrument, one that comes with a series/parallel 4-way selector pickup switch and the body pre-routed for easy installation of a classic Jazzmaster rhythm circuit. The CME Exclusive Player Jazzmaster is the perfect platform for a lifetime of playing and modding. Though it comes in many different finishes, the Shell Pink is clearly a favorite.
Runners up: One original 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard Burst known as "The Greek Burst" and another 1959 Burst known as "Bubbles."
The Reverb community at large should be proud of itself for this one. When building out a studio space, the urge to buy a new toy often gets the better of us. Even when we know that acoustic treatment is essential, it's all too easy to neglect the smart purchase. But not here. These custom-framed acoustic panels from Next Generation Acoustics are the single most Watched piece of studio gear on Reverb. A closer look and it's easy to see why: They're practical and handsome, custom and affordable, and they're sure to make any space sound and look better.
Runners up: Focusrite's 18i20 2nd Gen interface (an 8 mic-pre interface sold directly from the company's Reverb shop), some retro studio decor via Studio1 Austin's handmade "Recording" sign, and CVPA's full-sized, analog CVPlate Analog Stereo Plate Reverb (which you really ought to check out).
Electro-Harmonix's faithful take on the Sovtek Mig-50 is a 50-watt tube head made at EHX's New York factory. Announced at 2017's NAMM show, the reissue was revived again this year, to yet another round of great acclaim. With renewed interest, one listing on Reverb rose above the rest on our Most Watched List, simply by proclaiming that it had the Mig-50 in stock and ready to ship.
Runners up: A Mojotone Blackout Tweed Select Combo, direct from Mojotone, and the Hilbish Design Beta Preamp, which is also available direct from its maker.
When best-selling synths like the Korg Minilogue or Moog DFAM are listed at can't-beat prices, lots of Reverb users add those items to their Watch Lists. Those deals inevitably sell out, but for the purposes of this article, we want to highlight active listings. One unexpected piece to rise to the top is this circuit-bent telephone. The builder, Statikstramentz out of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, adds a low-pass filter to a new-old-stock Bell Systems telephone.
Runners up: One runner-up is the comparatively conventional Teenage Engineering OP-1 (we imagine many Watchers are hoping for a price drop), but there's also another mod in the running, a handmade Drone Jar that houses three oscillators whose pitches are controlled by the amount of light that hits their sensors.
