PRS Updates SE Series for 2018 with Wild Multi-Foil Finish

Yesterday, PRS announced its newest SE lineup, which includes the return of a finish technique the brand used briefly in the late '80s. As you can see in the image below, it is quite a sight to behold.

The new "Multi-Foil" finish is made by layering multiple finishes on top of one another to create wild, shifting hues across the body. While the earlier versions from the 1980s — when the finish was known as "Multi-Metal" — can command high prices on Reverb, the new multi-foil SEs will be far more affordable.

Check the rest of the new SE lineup below:

This signature model for Black Stone Cherry frontman Chris Robertson is a single-cutaway with a wide, fat mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard.

PRS adds exotic veneer options of spalted maple or zebrawood to its classic SE Custom 24.

This model adds PRS' pickup toggle switch from its 408 model to the Custom 24 specs, allowing for eight different pickup settings.

The new SE Standards continue to meet the below $500 price point but now come with the 85/15 "S" pickups and the classic PRS signature headstock logo.
