IK Multimedia Releases the New AXE I/O Audio Interface

Today, IK Multimedia added to the growing list of NAMM release announcements with the unveiling of its brand-new AXE I/O audio interface. The new interface, the brand says, is a culmination of everything IK learned from the tens of thousands of hours of research and testing it did with the amp-modeling software AmpliTube, which was first released back in 2002 and is currently in its fourth iteration.

Much like Audient's new Sono amp modeling interface, the AXE I/O was designed specifically with recording guitarists in mind and features advanced tone-shaping. It boasts two fully discrete input circuits—PURE and JFET—and five outputs—two floating balanced outputs, two unbalanced, and one floating unbalanced amp out.

The AXE I/O also offers two PURE mic preamps, promising 116dB of dynamic range and a wide, flat frequency response primed to preserve the tonal characteristics of acoustic guitars, pianos, and microphones. There's an assignable preset knob for players who want the ability to control their virtual rig, along with two inputs for single or double footswitches or expression pedals.

It comes packed with AmpliTube 4 Deluxe (featuring 140 models of guitar and bass amps, cabs, pedals, mics, and more), 10 specially chosen T-RackS Singles, and Ableton Live 10 Lite.
