Ernie Ball Music Man Is Opening Its Vault

To kick things off, the brand has listed 10 great instruments—including a 2002 Albert Lee SSS in Gremlin Green Sparkle—along with the official release of the long-awaited Tim Commerford Signature StingRay basses. Commerford, the bassist for Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, has been a longtime fan of StingRays, and now fans can choose from four signature models made to the artist's chosen specifications.

Albert Lee fanatics will be pleased to see that Ernie Ball Music Man is selling a one-off version of the guitarist’s signature model with special bells and whistles.

Made specifically for the 2002 NAMM show, this Vault guitar features a second quarter-inch input dedicated to piezo pickups. The guitar comes in a rare Gremlin Green Sparkle finish, with a flamed bird’s eye maple neck. You’ll have to move fast if you'd like to pick up this one-of-a-kind guitar here on Reverb.

Tim Commerford Signature Basses

If you’re a Rage Against the Machine fan, you’ll be thrilled that this Vault sale includes four brand-new Tim Commerford signature bass models: the Passive Long-Scale, Passive Short-Scale, Active Full-Scale, and Active Short-Scale.

"Over the last 30 years, Commerford has perfected his signature sound, playing many passive and active basses," Ernie Ball Music Man says. "The ability to have both full and short scale, active and passive basses in one collection gives Tim the tools required to reproduce the sounds made famous throughout his career."

In 2007, Ernie Ball Music Man celebrated the two-decade anniversary of its first-ever guitar model, the Silhouette, with a 20th Anniversary Signature Model. The guitar features a translucent Caramel Burst finish with a matching headstock, a flame maple top, and DiMarzio PAF Humbuckers Pickups.

Only one of these unplayed models will leave the Vault, so act fast if you want to pick this one up.

2009 Big Al SSS Bass Roasted Alder

2006 30th Anniversary StingRay 4 Bass

Ernie Ball Music Man is also releasing a 30th Anniversary Edition of its most popular bass model, the StringRay. This special StingRay 4 comes in a Crimson Red finish with a mahogany body and a bird’s eye maple neck.

Given that the 30th Anniversary of the StingRay was in 2006, this is your best chance to be the first owner of this commemorative bass model.
