Epiphone Releases New Lineup Details for Summer NAMM

Epiphone's new lineup is its biggest in years—featuring a host of artist signature models in addition to five acoustics, two tenor ukuleles, and fourteen electrics in its standard lines. In the video above, you can see Jim try out two of those signature models—the Lee Malia RD Custom Artisan and the John Lee Hooker 100th Anniversary Zephyr—from the Summer NAMM floor.

The AJ-200SCE now features Epiphone’s Shadow Preamp System, a solid spruce top, and comes in Mahogany Burst (as does the updated AJ-220S). The new EJ-200SCE, meanwhile, also features a solid spruce top, with Epiphone’s Shadow eSonic-II stereo pickup system.

The final two acoustics are travel-sized Coupe models: the solidbody, steel-string acoustic SST Coupe and the classic CE Coupe powered by the Shadow Panoramic acoustic pickup system.

Epiphone is rolling out some new finishes for its series of archtops. The Broadway model (with Alnico Classic humbuckers) and the Joe Pass Emperor II PRO (with coil-splitting ProBuckers and Grover tuners) now available in a new Vintage Natural finish. And the Casino is available in a new Turquoise finish.

Also available in the Turquoise finish is the smaller, ES-339-inspired Casino Coupe, packed with single-coil P-90s, while the other smaller semi-hollowbody—the ES-339 PRO—comes with coil-splitting Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers in a lighter blue finish.

Naturally, Epiphone also unveiled a variety of Les Paul models, all with different specs and finishes sure to suit any LP lover's palate. One of the coolest among them is the Les Paul Tribute "Prizm" Plus Outfit model, which is powered by Gibson USA '57 Classic humbuckers with series-parallel switching and Grover locking tuners, and features a multi-colored, carved hard maple top.
