Artist/Producer Butch Walker at NAMM 2017

Amidst all the hustle and bustle at Winter NAMM, we managed to sit down with artist and producer Butch Walker to catch up on what he’s been up to lately.

One of our personal favorites here at Reverb, Butch covered topics from favorite guitars to his big influences to the challenges of being an artist in modern times.

Renowned for his acoustic work, Butch opened up about his personal favorite Yamaha FG-180 dreadnought and the new line of the guitars Yamaha personally approached Butch with. Punchy and sporting a full midrange, the FG-180s were a pawn shop find for decades until this new series came out. In the words of Butch, “I like ‘em to sound like a piece of wood.”

Check out the video above to see Joe’s interview with Butch and stay tuned for more NAMM coverage.
