Arturia Updates Its V Collection of Synths, Keys, and Piano Emulations

For musicians and producers interested in recreating the classic tones of vintage synths, electric pianos, acoustic pianos, and other keys-based instruments, the Arturia V Collection 6 has long been one of the premiere music software programs.

Today, the French company announced an update that greatly improves the functionality of the program and adds a slew of new sounds and presets.

While previous iterations of the V Collection have allowed limited compatibility with Native Instruments Maschine and Komplete Kontrol S-Series keyboards, the V Collection 6.1 is now fully NKS compatible, with every single instrument able to be mapped quickly and easily across Native Instruments devices.

Another large improvement is the inclusion of Arturia's preset browser on every instrument—allowing users to search for specific tonal characteristics and hardware variations. With more than 20 instruments and thousands upon thousands of presets, this browser can save crucial time and headaches when wanting to find and use a specific tone.

With the 6.1 update, Arturia also adds to the amount of available sounds and presets with the new jazzy Sensual Piano, analog-rich Air Tribute, and the FM-minded Addictive Additives, which each brings dozens of new presets. The Air Tribute pack, for example, contains 32 new presets that match the tones of French electronic duo Air's Moon Safari album.
