Joining Alexander Pedals' Neo series, the Marshmallow Artificial Sweetener is a powerful, multifaceted pitch-shifting machine. It features two distinct pitch-shifters with six pitch-shifting modes that can be combined, blended, and modulated for nearly endless sonic possibilities.

Current Alexander Pedals users and fans will recognize this pedal's familiar control interface. It features four knobs, each with a primary and alternate function, the latter of which is accessed by pressing and holding the selector button and twisting the respective control. And like the rest of the Neo series, the Marshmallow features onboard presets and a multi-jack control for the Neo footswitch, expression pedal control, or MIDI control.

As demonstrated in the video above, "mod" mode sees the two pitch-shifters combined together with knobs for adjusting the modulation of each pitch-shifter individually, the combined modulation depth, and modulation speed. As you might guess from its name, "arpy" mode features a four-step arpeggiator.

As explained above, "The first step is always unison to the input signal, and we can set the following three pitches with the 'voice,' 'two,' and 'mod' knobs. The alternate function of the 'voice' knob lets us control the sequence speed and direction."

Other modes include: "rand" for randomly modulating both pitch-shifters, "ring" for adding a tremolo effect to the pitch-shifters, "dyna" for dynamically controlled pitch-shifting, and "cloud," which sends the pitch-shifters through "a cascading delay and reverb effect."
