So far this year, Fender's Parallel Universe series has seen the historic brand offering a variety of new models that combine elements from its various standard-issue guitars in a twisted, speculative alchemy of guitar design.
Most recently, the freshly released Troublemaker Telecaster takes Fender's single-cutaway as close to Les Paul territory as the company has ever dared to go, especially with the Ice Tea Burst finish mimicking Gibson's most famous sunburst tops. But of course, the concept of a Tele-Les Paul composite can go the other direction as well—say, for example, a Les Paul body with a Tele-style bridge and bridge pickup.
