About this listing
Parting is a creative glitch delay, reverb, and modulation device born from a collaboration between harpist Emily Hopkins and experimental effects builders Old Blood Noise Endeavors. Designed to explore signal crushing, reverse textures, and ambient chaos, Parting invites you into a world of evolving sound shaped by interaction, chance, and texture.
This is not a conventional effects pedal. Parting is a responsive instrument that rewards experimentation, producing moments of surprise that range from subtle lo fi movement to radical glitch driven soundscapes.

Experimental Control with Organic Interaction
At the heart of Parting is a central Dissolve control that shapes the entire character of the effect. Below noon, the signal is crushed with reduced sample rate for gritty lo fi textures. Above noon, the signal progressively degrades into stretched and reversed audio, creating haunting, unstable soundscapes.
To the left, modulation controls introduce tremolo or vibrato movement. To the right, chance based or envelope controlled glitch delay can be smeared into expansive reverb. Every element interacts with clock shifting randomness, producing constantly evolving results that feel musical rather than mechanical.
Glitch, Space, and Controlled Chaos
Parting excels at creating glitch bursts that bloom into ambient washes. Delay fragments can jump between halves and octaves, dissolve into aliasing, or stretch into reverse textures that feel alive and unpredictable. Despite the complexity under the hood, the interface remains tactile and intuitive, encouraging hands on exploration.
Advanced Connectivity and Performance Ready Design
Stereo input and output provide flexible routing options, including mono and mono in stereo out configurations. Expression and MIDI control allow full access to every parameter, with MIDI clock support for precise external synchronisation. Onboard presets make it easy to recall favourite settings, while expanded control is available via MIDI.
Selectable buffered trails or true bypass modes let you tailor the pedal to your signal chain, and analogue dry through ensures your core tone remains intact.
