Mindprint En-Voice class-A mkI Channel Strip

Professional 1U channel strip designed and manufactured in Germany. The MindPrint En-Voice MK I combines a high-quality microphone preamplifier, optical compressor, three-band semi-parametric equaliser and a separate tube saturation stage in a compact and versatile recording front end.

The unit has been fully tested and is working exactly as it should.

Sound & Character

The En-Voice was designed as a transparent and flexible recording channel rather than a heavily coloured processor. The microphone preamp offers plenty of clean gain and low noise, while the equaliser is smooth and musical without being overly aggressive.

One of the distinctive features of the En-Voice is its separate Tube Sound control. As noted in the original Sound On Sound review (), this is not part of the compressor circuit, but an independent gain stage placed after the compressor. This allows harmonic saturation to be adjusted independently of the amount of compression, making it possible to add subtle warmth or stronger valve character without affecting the compressor settings. The reviewer also noted that this approach avoids many of the compromises found in inexpensive "tube" channel strips, where the valve often serves more as a marketing feature than as a genuinely useful processing stage.

The optical compressor is smooth and easy to operate, making it well suited to vocals, bass, acoustic instruments and general tracking duties.

The unit has been fully tested and functions exactly as it should.

Cosmetically, it is in good overall condition with normal signs of studio use consistent with its age. One control knob is missing, as shown in the photographs, but this does not affect the operation of the unit in any way.
