1980 Gibson Les Paul Custom in Ebony, featuring Tim Shaw pickups—arguably the best pickups of that era since the original PAFs.

The instrument is in very good condition, perfectly playable and set up, though it has acquired some cosmetic marks and undergone some maintenance over time:

- The headstock binding has come loose over a span of a few centimeters (see photo). (To preempt any questions: NO, the headstock itself has NEVER been damaged, broken, or reglued; only the binding is affected.)

- The guitar was refretted about ten years ago. Current fret condition: 9.5/10. The refret was performed by luthier Yves Ghirotto in Annecy; he preserved the "nibs," maintaining the guitar's original look.

- The volume and tone knobs were swapped for "witch hat" style knobs, and the 350k pots were replaced with 500k ones; this "opens up" the pickup sound, and the guitar sounds much better this way (the original pots and knobs are still functional and included with the guitar).

- The bridge was replaced—this time for playability reasons—using an identical genuine Gibson part. (The original bridge is included).

- The pickup rings were cracked and replaced with new equivalents (the originals are included and still usable).

- The nut was replaced with a bone nut.

- The case is not original, but it is a nice Gator case featuring a pink interior lining, reminiscent of the classic era.

I prefer a hand-to-hand transaction; I am willing to travel within the Rhône-Alpes region and neighboring areas, or possibly to Paris.
