As Rupert Neve stated, this design is the evolution of the 2254, utilizing superior modern components that were not available during the original 2254 era. The unit features a fully transformer-balanced (carnhill transformers)signal path, delivering exceptional sonic integrity. I have used these units extensively for tracking, mixing, bus processing, and mastering, where its true magic shines when working with lower ratios, providing an incredibly elegant glue to any mix and a creamy sound.I like very much the limiter. Try the "ambient" button trick. You will be surprised.
