Up for sale is a classic vintage mid-1960s Drum Mate 14x5” steel snare drum, manufactured in Japan (MIJ) by Star / Hoshino Gakki.
This model corresponds directly to Star’s 1965 catalog listing, Model No. 3254 from the "Swing Star / Dynamic" series (the 6-lug version of their hard-soldered chrome shell snare).
The drum is in overall very good condition with a bright chrome shell and a spotless interior.

Throw-Off: Original Star No. 930 strainer and No. 931 butt plate (fully functional; replacement screw fitted for the lever arm handle)
Heads & Wires: Fitted with an Evans Genera Coated batter head, Remo Diplomat clear resonant head, and upgraded wide multi-strand snare wires for maximum sensitivity
