This is the third LunchBox in the series. Now that covid is over and people are getting out more I wanted to make a version that had more power and work anywhere in the world without issue or worrying about mains voltage or anything. This is an all tube amp powered by a custom switching power supply. This allows the amp to run on any voltage from 80-260Vac anywhere in the world. Like our bigger custom amplifiers this amp is a magnetic phase coupled amp. Unlike other guitar amps this uses a custom designed and built here in the USA tapped inductor. I ground the tap and anything feed in one side comes out the other side 180 degrees out of phase. The perfect phase splitter that no other company will use…. because they cost serious money. The two push pull output tubes are 6AQ5 matched pairs. These are a smaller version of the 6V6 tube used in tons of amplifiers. A 12DW7/ECC837 tube is a dual triode, the input side is a 12AX7 and the output side feeding the magnetic phase splitter is a 12AU7. This works great in the amp and that is the one under the shield.

In setting up the LunchBox you can use the 9V supply to power 1A of pedals. This will work with a number of pedals, but check the current usage of each pedal before connecting it. The supplied 2.1mm extension cable and the 5 extender should allow you to create something awesome. This is a totally isolated supply. Do not connect this to other power supplies as it will damage the amplifier. Please do not cycle power on any all tube amplifier, just turn down vol.

The input is 1M and so any instrument will work great with this setup. Simply plug in the 1/4” TR cable into the front panel and power via the included IEC power cord and you are ready.

Transformer coupled DI you can use the included TRS to XLR cable to plug into any mixer or Digital Audio Workstation using an extension cable if needed or Front of House. Lots of musicians mic the speaker and also send the DI output to FOH and mix them together.

Turbo: It’s made with a ton of quality made in USA parts like transformers from Intact and SourSound. Capacitors from Black Gate (look them up on eBay $$$).

I was asked by someone on FB why I choose the 6AQ5/6005/EL90 over the 6V6. Well first two 6V6 tubes would not have fit on the chassis. Plus you can get super high quality NOS 6AQ5's all day long. This amplifier has a pair of Sylvania Gold Pin GB-6005 output tubes that are matched. I bought those Mullard EL90 lab grade matched for $50 shown in the pictures. Sorry they are not included. I bought 10 RCA 6AQ5 for $63, shipped. Try and get a pair of NOS RCA matched pair for that much. These are sequential so I will probably get 5 pairs out of those 10.
