Collector's example of this rare, beautifully maintained, fully functional, legendary Yamaha FS1R rackmount synthesizer. Widely regarded as the absolute holy grail of FM synthesis , the 1U module pairs an advanced 8-Operator FM engine with physical Formant Synthesis to create fascinating vocal textures, crystalline tines, and evolving pads that modern software simply cannot replicate.

Condition, Maintenance & Testing:

• Brand New Battery: The internal CR2032 memory battery has just been replaced via the bottom panel access. Your user patches, system configurations, and global settings will now save perfectly when the unit is powered down.
• Factory Initialized: The RAM has been completely cleared of legacy data and freshly initialized to the original factory specifications. All legendary preset "Performances" and "Voices" are 100% intact, including the iconic formant-shaping "Yes No" patch (as shown in the active display photo).
• Display Panel: The LCD screen is crisp, exceptionally bright, and has excellent contrast with no fading or missing pixels.
• Cosmetics: Kept in a smoke-free, pet-free home studio environment. In excellent overall cosmetic shape for a 25-year-old vintage machine, due to my having bought it almost new and given it little use. The faceplate is in stunning condition, and the top casing is remarkably clean. The galvanized underside panel shows some completely normal, light vintage oxidation smudges from being safely housed in a studio rack over the years (visible in photos), which is purely cosmetic and completely hidden when mounted. The control knobs are clean and responsive.
