This is one is a live musician's player!

One of Martin’s “New Yorker” folk-era guitars. These were Martin’s early take on a vintage reissue — built during the 1960s folk boom to echo the small-bodied, 12-fret 1920s instruments made famous by Joan Baez and her contemporaries. Lightly built with a stripped-down, Style 18 aesthetic.

This is a fantastic guitar. I would say its in "Excellent" shape for a 69, but there are some small dings and wear from play (pictured). This 0-16NY is set up with both a LR Baggs Passive M1 sound hole pickup as well as LR Baggs Anthem SL Soundhole Microphone/Undersaddle system. These two have been professionally connected internally into one output jack that runs out to a preamp via a TRS cable. The system enables a wet/dry set up or an onstage amp/PA output set up as shown in the photo above through my red eye twin pre (red eye twin not included). I typically run a wet signal through several pedals on stage into a Deluxe Reverb or Blues Cube and a dry single through the PA (you can also just run the M1 with a regular guitar cable). This set up is very similar to what Jeff Tweedy does in Wilco with his 0-18 12 fret. The sound and flexibility on stage is unparalleled and its sounds amazing. There has been a lot of work completed by the Luthiers at the highly respected "Jimmy Wallace Guitars" in Garland TX. The guitar also had a complete neck reset also performed at "Jimmy Wallace" and it is true player. I play this in an 8 person rock band and in smaller acoustic sessions by myself and with just our harmonica player. Its fanstastic in both settings, however I have three Martin-016s set up identically. This one is the nicest one, but the others have some sentimental attachment. I am selling this one to help fund a custom shop Telecaster for one of my sons. This would make a great acoustic for the couch or recording, but its highest calling is for a live player that loves the sound of these guitars on stage. This guitar has over $1700 of upgrades between the wiring, pickups and neck reset- that only a true acoustic nerd can appreciate so there's a reason for the price. I never think, "I need a bigger guitar" on stage.
