A NAMM Special from the Fender Custom Shop, and one of the most convincing mid fifties Telecasters you will ever pick up. The neck is riff sawn maple carved to a full 1954 "U" profile, finished in medium tint nitro and worn silky smooth across the back with the paint gone entirely from the 1st to the 12th fret. That is not standard Journeyman treatment, and it is the first thing your hand notices. The two piece ash body wears an Aged White Blonde nitrocellulose lacquer with the Journeyman relic touch: honest dings, nicks and fine checking, used but never abused. Underneath the 52 Tele parchment pickguard sits a pair of hand wound 55/56 Tele pickups, wound by legendary Fender Custom Shop masterwinder Josefina Campos herself. Clear, balanced, with that extra warmth and roundness the mid fifties Telecaster is loved for, and a bridge pickup that snaps exactly the way a Blackguard era Tele should. Modern Tele wiring with a Greasebucket tone circuit keeps the top end intact when you roll back. The 9.5" radius maple board with Sanko 6105 frets makes this a vintage guitar you can actually play fast on.
