My research leads me to believe that this is a very short lived variant from around 1982 when Shure first opened their factory in Mexico. ‘Assembled by Shure in Mexico’ would mean USA made parts assembled in Mexico. My understanding was that’s how they were labeled until full production was moved to Mexico. Then the wording changed to ‘Made in Mexico‘ after USA made parts were depleted/ended and full production was up and running in Mexico .
